Agentastic vs Google Antigravity
Last updated
Google Antigravity is Google's agent platform: an agentic IDE, Antigravity 2.0 (a standalone command center for running several local agents at once), a terminal-first CLI, and a Python SDK, all built on Google's own agent harness with Gemini models and, on some plans, Claude models. Agentastic is a native macOS workspace that stays vendor-neutral: it runs the Antigravity CLI as one of 53 launchable agents, next to Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI, each in its own worktree, container, SSH host, or cloud VM. Pick Antigravity if Google's agent is the one you want; pick Agentastic if you mix agents from several vendors.
Who should choose each option
Agentastic
Choose Agentastic if you run agents from several vendors, including Antigravity's CLI, and want each task isolated in a worktree, container, SSH host, or cloud VM with review passes, on a Mac.
Google Antigravity
Choose Antigravity if you want Google's agent with Gemini models, a $0 individual plan, artifacts such as plans and walkthroughs to review, and apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, and Googlebook.
Feature comparison
| Agentastic | Google Antigravity | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Native macOS workspace for many CLI agents | Google's agent platform: IDE, Antigravity 2.0 command center, CLI, SDK, and IDE extensions |
| Platforms | macOS 14+ | macOS 12+, Windows 10+, Linux, Googlebook |
| Agents | 55 built-in definitions, including the Antigravity CLI (agy), Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI | Antigravity's own agent, with subagents |
| Models | Whatever each agent supports, on your own accounts | Gemini models; Claude and GPT-OSS models on some plans |
| Parallel isolation | Worktree per task by default; Docker or Apple container, SSH host, or cloud VM | Local or new-worktree mode per conversation; terminal sandbox on macOS and Linux |

| Price | Free; bring your own agent subscriptions | $0 individual plan with weekly rate limits; higher limits with Google AI Pro or Ultra; business plans through Google Cloud |
Pricing
Agentastic
Free. Each agent uses your own account with its provider, so the Antigravity CLI runs on your Antigravity plan.
Google Antigravity
The individual plan is $0, with access to agent models, unlimited Tab completions, and basic weekly rate limits. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscriptions raise the limits, and organizations can buy through Google Cloud, with Gemini Enterprise seats from $30 a month or pay-as-you-go pricing.
Using them together
They work together. Run Antigravity's CLI (agy) as one of the agents in an Agentastic worktree, next to Claude Code or Codex on the same task, and open any worktree in the Antigravity IDE from Agentastic's Open in button.
Frequently asked questions
What is Google Antigravity?
Google's agentic development platform. It includes the Antigravity IDE, Antigravity 2.0 (a standalone app for managing several local agents at once), the Antigravity CLI, a Python SDK, and extensions for other editors (products).
Is Google Antigravity free?
There is a $0 individual plan with weekly rate limits, and Google AI Pro and Ultra raise them (pricing). Agentastic is free, and the Antigravity CLI runs inside it on your Antigravity plan.
Can Antigravity run multiple agents in parallel?
Yes. Antigravity 2.0 is built for it, and each conversation can work locally or in a new git worktree. Those are Antigravity's own agents; Agentastic runs agents from different vendors in parallel, each in its own worktree, container, SSH host, or cloud VM.
Can I use Claude Code or Codex with Antigravity?
Antigravity's agent is Google's own harness; its model picker includes Claude models on some plans (models). To run the Claude Code or Codex CLIs themselves next to Antigravity's CLI, use a multi-agent workspace like Agentastic.
Antigravity vs Cursor: which is better?
Both are editor-first AI IDEs with agent managers. Cursor builds on the VS Code codebase with its own agent and Tab completions; Antigravity pairs Google's agent and Gemini models with a $0 individual plan. See the best agentic IDEs for a fuller comparison.
Does Antigravity run on a Mac?
Yes, on macOS 12 or later with Apple Silicon or Intel, as well as on Windows, Linux, and Googlebook (download). Agentastic is Mac only and needs macOS 14 or later.
Can I control Antigravity remotely?
Antigravity's Remote Control lets you drive sessions on your other machines from a web browser. Agentastic has a native iPhone app, in public beta on TestFlight, that connects end-to-end encrypted to your Mac.
