# Agentastic.dev

Agentastic.dev is a native macOS multi-agent IDE for running an AI software factory:
many coding agents working in parallel on your Mac, over SSH, or on cloud VMs. Each
task gets its own git worktree, terminal, browser, and diff review, so several agents
can work at once without colliding, from issue to pull request. It runs the agent CLIs
you already have installed on your own subscriptions or API keys; Agentastic's hosted
models and relay services are optional.

## Facts

- **What it is**: a native (Swift) macOS app for running and reviewing many coding agents in parallel. It is a workspace around agent CLIs, not a model provider; it also ships its own optional coding agent.
- **Agents**: 55 built-in agent definitions, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, and review agents such as CodeRabbit and Greptile. Any terminal command can be added as a custom agent.
- **Isolation**: a git worktree per task by default; Docker or Apple containers, remote SSH hosts, and cloud sandboxes (Modal, Fly.io, Vercel Sandbox) when a worktree is not enough.
- **Price**: free. You pay agent vendors directly through your own subscriptions or API keys.
- **Platform**: macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel. No Windows or Linux desktop app. An iPhone companion app (public beta on TestFlight, iOS 18+) watches and steers agents over an end-to-end-encrypted connection.
- **License**: proprietary and closed source (it is not open source).
- **Programmatic control**: the `dev` CLI and a JSON-RPC socket let scripts, schedulers, and other agents launch and steer agents in a running app.

## When to use Agentastic

- You run several coding agents at once on one repository and need each in its own worktree, terminal, and review path.
- You mix providers (for example Claude Code and Codex) and want one workspace for both.
- Tasks need more isolation than a worktree: containers, a remote dev box over SSH, or a cloud sandbox that keeps running after the laptop sleeps.
- You want long-running Manager Agents, scheduled agents, or issue intake from Linear, Sentry, and Slack.
